Bottle #リトルミル(LITTLEMILL)
There was a paper-like quality, but it was well-made. Littlemill LITTLEMILL 1991-2013 22yo A.D. Rattray for PARK AVENUE LIQUOR SHOP #558 49.2% one of 273 bottles The aroma featured vanilla, ripe fruits, orange, pineapple, cereal notes, paper-like qualities, and oil. On the palate, it had a smooth mouthfeel with viscosity, pineapple, cereal notes, and paper-like qualities, with a touch of bitterness, oily texture, and long finish. [Good/Very Good] This is a 22-year-old Littlemill bottled by A.D. Rattray for the U.S. Park Avenue Liquor Shop. The aroma clearly conveyed ripe fruits like pineapple and orange, alongside the characteristic cereal-like and paper-like notes of Littlemill, as well as oil. The palate had a viscous, fruity texture centered around ripe pineapple. Personally, I found the paper-like quality to be more subdued compared to the aroma. While not a heavy-bodied whisky, it had a long, oily finish. Despite being from a closed distillery, Littlemill is often bottled as an original bottling, and this trend seems to extend beyond Japan to the U.S. as well. It might be selected for bottling when aiming to clearly express a fruity malt.
