Speyburn SPEYBURN 1991-2014 22yo GM RESERVE for La Maison du Whisky #2293 46%
one of 336 bottles, Refill American Hogshead
The aroma is elegant with notes of vanilla, orange, green apple, nut cream. When drinking it, there are flavors of orange, light peach, vanilla, cream, and a soft honey sweetness. The oak tannins tighten the flavor and remain in the aftertaste. [Good/Very Good]
This is a bottling of Speyburn 1991, aged for 22 years, recently bottled by GM for La Maison du Whisky in France. It is a water-added reserve label.
The aroma has a refined and elegant character with notes of fruits like orange and green apple, as well as vanilla. When drinking it, the flavor is fruity and slightly creamy, with oak tannins deepening the taste. However, there was no sensation of raw wood from new casks.
This is a stress-free water-added bottle that successfully extracted only the good aspects of bourbon casks. It truly lived up to the standards of Maison.
