The impression was striking with a strawberry jam reminiscent of Springbank. Glen Scotia GLENSCOTIA 1991-2014 WEMYSS MALTS 46% one of 304 bottles, BARREL The aroma features strawberry jam with subtle peach and apricot jams, gentle barley notes, vanilla cream, oil and oak. On the palate, it begins with a soft mouthfeel, revealing a more restrained strawberry jam character than the aroma, alongside tropical pineapple-like nuances, pronounced sweetness, youthful barley with savory depth, and a faint vegetal freshness from the oak. The finish carries tar-like notes. 【Good/Very Good】 A new release from Wemyss, Glen Scotia 1991, matured for approximately 13 years. This differs from the previous Sherry-forward style released by the same bottler. The aroma immediately evoked strawberry jam reminiscent of Springbank from Campbeltown. The palate presented a notably different impression, with tropical fruits, slightly raw oak, and tar-like nuances. While the flavor had some lingering elements, it was enjoyable for its diverse aromatic profile. The tar-like notes were quite pronounced, an unusual characteristic not typically associated with Scotch whisky. Regardless, the contrast between aroma and flavor made for an intriguing drinking experience.
