It had been a while since I last tasted Ardmore 1992, but as expected, it closely resembles Bowmore. Ardmore ARDMORE 1992-2010 18yo MALTS OF SCOTLAND #5014 49.4% one of 185 bottles, Bourbon Barrel The aroma features passion fruit, ripe grapefruit, apple, crème brûlée, and a strong smoky peat. On the palate, it has a smooth mouthfeel with passion fruit, pineapple, and a juicy, sweet flavor with some body. The peat is strong, with notes of tar. While the body isn't heavy, it's pleasant. 【Good/Very Good】 This is a single cask Ardmore 1992 from Malts of Scotland, aged for 18 years. I've written several times before about how Ardmore 1992 resembles Bowmore from the 1990s, but it had been a while since I last tasted this whisky. Upon tasting it again, the tropical notes of passion fruit and citrus nuances, along with the strong peat, still made it very similar to Bowmore. I think you could distinguish them by the lack of saltiness or the stronger tar-like notes, but it would definitely be a challenge in a blind tasting. Setting aside comparisons to Bowmore, this was a very fruity malt with a good balance between fruitiness and peat. #Ardmore (ARDMORE)
