LONGROW 1992-2009 BBR #79
Bottle #ロングロウ(LONGROW)
This is a typical example of LONGROW that gives me a fruity sensation similar to Lagavulin.
LONGROW LONGROW 1992-2009 BBR #79 46%
The aroma features grapefruit, lemon drops, melon, cheese, faint damp soil, smoky peat. Upon drinking, it has a soft mouthfeel, concentrated citrus notes, cheese, a slightly powdery and chewy texture, strong barley umami, pleasant sweetness and acidity, with a clean finish.
【Good/Very Good】
This is a diluted single cask bottling of LONGROW 1992 released by BBR in 2009. It has a strong peat character along with concentrated citrus notes like grapefruit, and gives a slightly powdery chewy texture characteristic of 90s LONGROW. Like the official release of 1994 that came out recently, I strongly feel a similarity to the fruity expressions of 90s Lagavulin that come from bottlers.
The distinguishing point may be the presence or absence of iodine. The diluted bottling offers a clean, pleasant taste with well-balanced sweetness and acidity, and the strong barley umami was also a positive impression.
