Linkwood LINKWOOD 1992-2015 WEMYSS MALTS 46%, one of 305 bottles, HOGSHEAD
Bottle #リンクウッド(LINKWOOD)
A floral and fresh Speyside malt with a refined complexity. The dilution enhances its character. Linkwood LINKWOOD 1992-2015 WEMYSS MALTS 46%, one of 305 bottles, HOGSHEAD The aroma is vibrant with fresh orange, green apple, vanilla, white flowers, meadow, gentle oak, and diluted honey. The palate begins with a soft mouthfeel, expanding into orange and vanilla notes, with a sweet honeyed richness balanced by the tightening oak finish. [Good/Very Good] Recently released Linkwood 1992 from Wemyss. Diluted to the standard 46% strength. The aroma carries a bourbon cask influence from the dilution, with bright citrus and green apple fruitiness layered with floral notes. While not a complex or heavily matured whisky, it's a smooth malt with appealing fruitiness, gentle sweetness, and well-integrated cask character without any raw woodiness. Not a must-have whisky, but a charmingly approachable diluted malt with both drinkability and subtle depth. While I can't confirm whether Wemyss selects casks that benefit from dilution or if their diluted expressions simply happen to be good, it's undeniable that many of Wemyss' diluted malts are delicious.
