TOMATIN TOMATIN 1993-2014 20yo THE WAREHOUSE COLLECTION #7119 55.0%
one of 236 bottles, Bourbon Hogshead
The aroma is fruity, strong peach, lemon, vanilla, soft and light barley notes. When drinking, it's quite showy and strongly fruity, slightly chemical but solid peach, pineapple, vanilla, gentle barley umami, slightly oily and fruity finish.
【Good/Very Good】
The new release from The Whisky Warehouse No.8, a German bottler, TOMATIN 1993, aged for 20 years. From the top notes, it's quite fruity, and the peach flavor reminiscent of 1976 is clearly felt. When drinking, the peach sensation and tropical flavors like pineapple are more than expected from the aroma. Although it has a medicinal chemical-like quality typical of TOMATIN, it's very fruity. It lacks thickness but has a savory barley note that supports the flavor, making it very good.
Since the 1976 TOMATIN became popular, I think fruity TOMATIN has been selected and released more often, whether official or bottlers, clearly increasing the number of fruity types released compared to before. This is from the 90s, but among the same era bottles I've tasted, it was a malt with particularly rich fruity characteristics.
