Glen Keith GLENKEITH 1993-2017 23yo "GOLGO 13 Gold Label" #82830 49.5%
one of 154 bottles, hogshead
The nose was elegant with fresh orange, green apple, vanilla, and rich oak.
Tasting it confirmed the nose's impression: refined citrus, green apple, vanilla, a touch of spicy warmth, balanced sweetness and acidity, and a clean, weightless finish.
[Good/Very Good]
Recently released by Shogakukan as part of the 50th anniversary bottling of Golgo 13, this Glen Keith 1993 was aged for 23 years.
In addition to the gold label, there is also a white-labeled "Fare Class" version.
The cask selection was conducted by Carsten from a German whisky agency and Shogakukan's Yamaguchi, suggesting the cask origin is likely from the agency.
Influenced by good bourbon casks, it offers a vibrant aroma with fruity and vanilla notes, and was clean overall.
While there is some spice, it's well-rounded with a good balance of sweetness and acidity, making this a straightforwardly delicious bourbon cask whisky.
Elegant and clean, though slightly diverging from the typical Golgo image, it remains undeniably delicious.
