BOWMORE 1994 18yo Abeyhill for KINKO "Venus Reserved" 55.4%
Bottle #ボウモア(BOWMORE)
A juicy BOWMORE with fresh fruits. BOWMORE 1994 18yo Abeyhill for KINKO "Venus Reserved" 55.4% The aroma is strong with passion fruit, grapefruit, a juicy sensation, vanilla, strong peat, light dashi broth. When drinking, there is a juicy passion fruit and lychee, grapefruit, vanilla, fruity sweetness, good oak, solid peat, and a pleasant long finish. [Good/Very Good] This is BOWMORE 1994, matured for 18 years, bottled by Abeyhill for KINKO. From the first aroma, the tropical fruits like passion fruit and grapefruit were strongly felt, along with a juicy sensation, which was impressive. Also, nuances of seawater, dashi, and peat were clearly present. When drinking, the expected juicy fruits exploded in diversity, and due to not being freshly bottled, it had a slightly refined nuance rather than the alcohol strength's roughness. Although strong with peat, it is well-balanced as a fruity Islay malt, offering a pleasant drinking experience. This is a rare new release of the 1994 vintage BOWMORE. Initially thought to be from a cask by BBR, it was actually from Abeyhill (JIS-oriented). Nowadays, it's almost impossible to purchase such vintage BOWMORE casks from bottlers, and if available, they would be at a high price. This release seems to be from bottles purchased and bottled a few years ago, offering considerable value for money. It shows foresight. It sold out instantly, so I naturally couldn't purchase it. However, if it were available normally, I would have definitely bought multiple bottles. The buyer is actively moving, and I look forward to such wonderful releases in the future.
