On the palate, it expands from a smooth mouthfeel with strong sweet jam-like richness, followed by tannic notes of coffee and herbs, a touch of meatiness, and a long, concentrated finish. [Good/Very Good] Recently bottled by GM for JIS, this is a 22-year-old Glenburgie from 1994. Despite the 'refill' notation, the sherry character is clearly evident, comparable to a first-fill cask. The concentrated jam-like fruitiness is accompanied by chocolate, coffee, and herbs—typical of a sherry cask. While the distillery character is not prominent, the balance between strong sweet richness and pronounced tannins is well executed, making this a high-quality bottling in recent years.
