Lagavulin LAGAVULIN 1995 12yo OB 'A special bottling for the Friends of the Classic Malts' 48% European oak casks The aroma is surprisingly gentle but has a strong sherry, caramel, plum and apricot, seaweed or briny notes, damp earth, nuts, and a strong peat with iodine. When drinking it has viscosity but gradually becomes spicy, plum, apricot jam, a rich sweetness with nuts, thick peat, and a long, rich finish. 【Very Good】 Lagavulin 1995, bottled for the Friends of the Classic Malts, aged for 12 years. Among Lagavulin's official bottles, it surprisingly has a strong sherry influence, adding elements like plum and caramel to the original apricot-like fruity notes. It has the bold maritime nuances, earthy tones, and strong peat with iodine typical of an Islay malt. The sweetness has a rich depth, giving the impression of more body than its alcohol content. Overall, it feels like a delicious official Lagavulin, delivering the expected classic feel.
