New Release: GlenDronach 1995-2015 19 Year Old Official for the Netherlands & Japan #2380
Bottle #グレンドロナック(GLENDRONACH)
Shared between the Netherlands and Japan, a rather good cask.
GlenDronach GLENDRONACH 1995-2015 19yo OB for THE NETHERLANDS and JAPAN #2380 55.1%
One of 628 bottles, Oloroso Sherry Butt
The aroma features strong sherry notes, dried fruits, bitter chocolate, Armagnac, herbal liqueur, toasted barley, and rich woodiness.
On the palate, it expands powerfully and aromatically with dried fruits like dates, bitter chocolate-drenched dried orange, faint clay, jammy sweetness with body, good astringency, and a rich, long finish.
[Good/Very Good]
This is an official GlenDronach 1995, 19-year-old Oloroso Sherry Butt shared between the Netherlands and Japan.
While it clearly exhibits Drogheda's 90s Oloroso sherry characteristics like dried fruits, bitter chocolate, and herbs, it has less of the clay-like nuances I'm not particularly fond of, with an impressionable grape-like note reminiscent of Armagnac.
The balance between sweetness and astringency is well done, and among bottles with similar specifications, I believe this is a highly completed bottle.
