MiltonDuff MILTONDUFF 1995-2015 20yo GM RESERVE for THE WHISKY HOOP #12942 55.9% One of 114 bottles, Refill Bourbon Barrel The aroma has a refined bourbon cask character with strong vanilla and orange oil, subtly pineapple and green apple, some remaining grain notes, a touch of cream and nuts, with a strong oak presence. On the palate it is spicy and fiery, with a rich sweetness of vanilla, orange, honey, a strong oak presence that tightens and adds tannins, rich with a long sweet finish. [Good/Very Good] This MiltonDuff 1995, aged for 20 years, was bottled by GM with a reserve label for The Whisky Hoop. It was distributed in July to members who requested it. A fine Speyside malt influenced by a good bourbon cask, with fruity notes of green apple and pineapple, as well as subtle cream nuances. The oak is clearly present. It also retained a moderate grain character, which was a positive aspect. Tasting it confirms the strong bourbon cask influence from the aroma. There is also a honeyed sweetness, with a rich oak character that adds a tannic finish. However, it lacks the woody roughness often associated with such characteristics, which was particularly impressive.
