Arran for Italy, slightly heavy but with good sherry notes. Arran ISLE OF ARRAN 1996-2013 16yo Official Bottling for BEIJA FLOR #1996/1986 52.3% / One of 198 bottles, SHERRY HOGSHEAD The aroma has recent good sherry notes with ripe plums, orange, chocolate, herbs, and a slightly heavy oiliness. On the palate, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel, expanding into plum and strawberry jam, rich sweetness, light acidity, moderate tannins, and a hint of resinousness and oiliness. The finish is long and rich. 【Good/Very Good】 This Arran 1996 was bottled for Italy's BEIJA FLOR, a sherry cask single barrel. Like many recent Arran releases with sherry hogsheads, it has a pleasant balance of ripe plums and jam-like characteristics. However, there's an added nuance of resinousness and oiliness that gives it a unique richness. While this rich weight may be divisive, the added complexity was impressively noticeable, offering a refreshing contrast to the usual reliable flavor profile.
