On the palate, it expands from a smooth mouthfeel with apricot jam sweetness and pleasant oak notes, slightly creamy, medium-bodied with a clean finish. [Good/Very Good] Recently released Glenrothes 1996, 20-year-old matured whisky. It was sold online by Shogakukan, and according to the description, it was selected by Yamagoka Hideo, a world-renowned whisky collector known for his work at Shogakukan, and Carsten from the German bottler Whisky Agency. Therefore, it is assumed that the cask came from the Agency. Although Glenrothes sherry casks have been frequently released recently, this is a rare type within that category. The sherry character is not dominant but subtly covers the entire profile. It has a fruity sweetness without a pushy feel and rich elements from high-quality oak. Due to its lower proof compared to typical new releases, it felt soft and smooth in texture for a newly released whisky. It has a cohesive structure from the outset, already well-developed and delicious. Personally, I don't like collaborative labels with manga or games as they feel unattractive and spoil the ambiance in a back bar.
