In addition to the typical Laphroaig grapefruit, tropical fruits like pineapple, passion fruit, and guava were strongly noticeable. It was also impressive that it wasn't just fruity but had seaweed-like qualities, seafood dashi, and strong iodine—elements characteristic of Laphroaig. The balance between aging depth and the robustness of an Islay cask strength was remarkable. As a new release from the bottler, this Laphroaig has outstanding charm and completion. Although limited to one per person, it was a great purchase. Compared to other Laphroaigs with similar specs, this one is clearly more affordable, which is a charm of the Society.
