【Good/Very Good】
This is a single cask Laphroaig from 1998, aged for 14 years, from the Archives series by WhiskyBase in the Netherlands. It exhibits a classic 1990s bottler style of Laphroaig, with clear notes of citrus and green apple. Subtle nuances of oak and creaminess from the bourbon hogshead are also present. There is some iodine, but it's not strong; rather, the smokiness takes the forefront. The palate is similarly floral and diverse, with a good balance of sweetness and acidity, umami, and no off-flavors. It's a delicious bottling of Laphroaig.
