When drinking it expands gradually with stimulation, the sweetness and acidity of ripe citrus, caramel, strong peat with a charcoal-like sharpness, and a peaty, slightly oily long finish. [Good/Very Good] This Laphroaig 1998-2013 was bottled by the Signatory for La Maison du Whisky's ARTIST#3 series. The aroma features sherry cask fruits and citrus such as orange, along with coffee or chocolate, without being overpowering. It also clearly exhibits the strong peaty iodine characteristic of recent Laphroaig releases. When tasted, it has the stimulating character expected from a young high proof whisky.
