Rosebank 20 Year Old Official Zenith Import 57%
#ローズバンク(ROSEBANK)
Indeed, this was the pinnacle of Rosebank.
Rosebank ROSEBANK 20yo OB 57%
Zenith Import, circulated in the 1980s
The aroma carries a pleasant old-world sensuality with floral notes, a touch of greenery, ripe oranges and apples, matured barley and ginger, light honey and vanilla, cinnamon, pleasant oak, with a faint trace of old peat. Upon drinking, it gradually reveals spiciness, floral notes, ripe apples, the umami of barley lingers on the tongue, a light sweetness with a delicate body, and a long-lasting sensual finish. The faint old peat and tar in the background add depth.
【Very Good/Excellent】
Considered one of the legendary bottles, this Zenith Import Rosebank 20 Year Old Official 57% carries a pleasant old-world sensuality from the first aroma, with strong floral notes and a subtle yet assertive greenery. The matured barley character is also impressive. A balanced oakiness and the presence of aged peat in the background enhance its sensual qualities.
Upon tasting, floral nuances emerge, with a dense barley character that feels infused into the palate through bottle aging. While refined and elegant on the surface, there's a robust core beneath, supported by strong barley and aged peat.
Though I struggle to express it fully, what remained was not only the floral elegance and sophistication typical of Rosebank but also a strong presence and sensual depth that left an impression.
This bottle was kindly provided by IAN from Mitsuco's Ise.
On this day, I was fortunate to compare it with the newly released Rosebank 21 Year Old, which had a similar specification.
Though differing in age and bottle aging duration, both were exceptional. They shared commonalities such as strong floral notes, refined and well-defined flavors, a subtle sweetness without being cloying, and a feminine nuance throughout.
Thank you for this wonderful experience.
