Talisker Official Bottling Distillery Exclusive 2000s Vintage
Bottle #タリスカー(TALISKER)
As expected from a distillery exclusive, it's non-age statement but very flavorful.
Talisker TALISKER OB available only at the distillery, 60.0%, bottled around 2000.
The aroma has freeze-dried citrus, brine, seafood dashi, and a strong peat note with some iodine. The malt is rich and full-bodied, with a powerful, concentrated, powdery texture. It has a chewy mouthfeel with grapefruit, thick malt and seafood smoke, and a bold peat. The finish is long.
[Very Good]
This Talisker was released as a distillery exclusive around 2000, with no vintage or aging information indicated.
It feels like an official cask strength Talisker, with a strong, powerful peat note. The briny and seafood nuances typical of an island whisky are also prominent, along with a rich malt character that is very appealing.
Additionally, it had some unique notes such as freeze-dried citrus and a concentrated powdery texture, which are not commonly associated with Talisker.
The fruity notes combined with the rich malt and peat, along with seafood nuances, create a well-balanced whisky. Despite being non-age statement, it has good structure and maturity, making it a very well-made official Talisker.
It's quite delicious.
