A good bourbon cask Arran, even when young, it's well-crafted. Arran ISLE OF ARRAN 2001-2014 12yo OB Private Cask for Eifelboys and Whisky Club Luxembourg #2001/877 50.8% One of 124 bottles, Bourbon Barrel The aroma features orange and pineapple, vanilla, coconut, honey, a moderate grainy note, oak, and a touch of cream. When tasted, it retains the same fruity character as the aroma: orange and pineapple, a sweet, honey-like richness, tightened by oak, coconut, and a gentle finish. [Good/Very Good] This Arran 2001, aged for 12 years, was bottled in 2014 specifically for the obscure Luxembourg-based organization 'Eifelboys and Whisky Club Luxembourg.' Though relatively young for a single cask malt, the bourbon barrel aging is evident with strong vanilla, coconut, orange, and honey notes. Additionally, a pineapple-like nuance often found in bourbon-cask Arrans was also noticeable. For an 12-year-old whisky aged in this type of barrel, the oak influence is well-balanced, with no signs of immaturity and a pleasant drinking experience. #Isle Of Arran (ISLE OF ARRAN)
