Arran ISLE OF ARRAN 2004-2014 Official Bottling Orkney Bere Barley 56.2%
Bottle #アイルオブアラン(ISLE OF ARRAN)
The impression was a simple yet robust barley note. Arran ISLE OF ARRAN 2004-2014 Official Bottling Orkney Bere Barley 56.2% The aroma features green apple, simple yet strong barley notes, vanilla, oak, a mechanical oil-like quality, coconut, drinking apple, robust barley umami, sweetness is not strong, oiliness, and a burning alcohol sensation. [Good] This is the new release of Arran 2004, bottled in 2014 with Orkney Bere Barley. It differs from recent Arran releases that are well-crafted even with short maturation, as this whisky is dominated by a simple yet strong barley character. While I can sense the influence of bourbon casks, there's not much maturation depth, and it feels like they intentionally emphasized the barley character. Additionally, I'm unsure if this is from the barley itself, but there's a slightly mechanical oil-like oiliiness, reminiscent of Bruichladdich's Islay Barley. It was interesting to note that both releases highlight special barley varieties. I don't have the confidence to purchase a bottle for personal consumption, but I'm looking forward to tasting future matured versions. #Isle of Arran (ISLE OF ARRAN)
