Recent Releases: Edradour 2006-2015 8yo Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief Effort Bottling #246
Bottle #エドラダワー(EDRADOUR)
The flavor was clearly present without the perfume.
Edradour EDRADOUR 2006-2015 8yo OB NEPAL 2015 EARTHQUAKE DISASTER RELIEF EFFORT BOTTLING #246 40%
one of 1033 bottles, Oloroso Sherry Butt
The aroma had a unique creamy freshness like coffee fresh, milk chocolate, orange juice, and quite sweet.
When drinking it, the mouthfeel was smooth, similarly creamy as the aroma, with vanilla, a straw-like quality, and sweetness that was milder and flatter than imagined from the aroma, with a light body.
[Good/Very Good]
This is Edradour 2006, aged for 8 years, bottled to support relief efforts after the 2015 Nepal earthquake.
Although it's a single cask from a butt, it has over 1000 bottles outturn at 40% dilution.
I had no idea they released such bottles. The label is adorable too.
Similar to the standard 10-year-old I previously introduced, Edradour clearly asserts its gentle sherry character and unique creamy nuance reminiscent of coffee fresh, with the perfume removed.
Assuming you like it, I'll dare to say that the fruity notes, milk chocolate sensation, and creaminess all evoke a unique fragrance reminiscent of inexpensive items.
While there are some malts that give impressions of fruit juice-like freshness, bitter chocolate-like chocolate notes akin to high-end products, and creaminess like premium fresh cream, I feel these are in contrast to the fragrance.
It's a very distinctive and delicious single malt.
By the way, this bottle is also like that, but all of them with this nuance are sherry casks, right?
Previously, I drank a bourbon cask one which had no perfume but also lacked individuality.
Perhaps the flavor only comes out with sherry casks.
I'll try to drink and verify a bourbon cask one properly when I get the chance.
