Lagavulin Official Distillery Exclusive 2010 Bottling
Bottle #ラガヴーリン(LAGAVULIN)
Impressed by its refined and improved character.
Lagavulin LAGAVULIN OB AVAILABLE ONLY AT THE DISTILLERY 52.5% bottled in 2010
The aroma is rich and robust, featuring apricot jam, orange marmalade, nuts and oil, vanilla, a thick barley note, and a powerful peat with iodine undertones. The palate is rich and forceful, with a viscous, sticky texture and chewy mouthfeel. Sweetness from apricot jam and honey, complemented by vanilla, soft oak tannins, and a bold, oily peat finish that lingers long.
【Very Good】
This is the official bottling of Lagavulin, exclusively available at the distillery and bottled in 2010. It showcases a rich Lagavulin character with robust jam-like sweetness, thick and savory barley notes, oak tannins, and a powerful peat presence. A high-level balanced style that fully embodies the house style, with the boldness typical of Islay malts, which aligns perfectly with my preferences. Compared to previous tastings, it feels more refined due to bottle aging, enhancing viscosity and concentration while increasing the chewy mouthfeel. This Lagavulin promises to become even more delicious over time, and is already exceptionally flavorful.
