There is no vintage or bottling notation, but it was bottled in the 2000s and appears to be a vatting of multiple vintages from the 1970s. It feels like a cool Ardbeg from the 1970s, matured in slightly plain casks, with distinctive nuances such as sharp metallic notes and chlorine, creosote. The sweetness is not too strong and it's dry, with no harshness on the palate yet possessing the strength and long finish typical of an Islay malt bottled at cask strength. This bottle perfectly showcases the character of 1970s Ardbeg. I received this bottle from Keith at Echoda.
