GlenGrant 30 Year Old Official 150th Anniversary Commemorative Bottle

GlenGrant GLENGRANT 30yo OB 150th ANNIVERSARY RESERVE 45%
Bottle #グレングラント(GLENGRANT)
As expected for a commemorative bottle, this is an outstanding and exceptional bottling. GlenGrant GLENGRANT 30yo OB 150th ANNIVERSARY RESERVE 45% The aroma is elegant yet calm and composed, featuring noble and seductive old sherry notes alongside a strong mint character, dried orange and berries, subtly juicy grape juice reminiscent of muscat, aged woodiness, with leather and old peat emerging from the depths. On the palate, it offers a smooth mouthfeel with rich flavors that spread seductively. Old sherry notes, mint, and concentrated fruit nuances are present, but the grape juice character is more pronounced than the aroma. It has a refined sweetness from fresh fruit juices, a gentle acidity, pleasant tannins, and a supporting old peat character. The balance and drinkability are exceptional, leaving a long, intoxicating finish. 【Very Good/Excellent】 This is the official 150th anniversary commemorative bottling of GlenGrant. Established in 1840, the bottling likely occurred around 1990 using stock from before 1960. Although I've tasted and written about this bottle previously, it's been three years since my last encounter. The old sherry character is remarkably intoxicating and seductive, with a clear sense of fresh fruit juice elements. While the woodiness typical of long-aged whisky is present, it doesn't overwhelm due to the water addition. The flavor expansion is so pleasant that it naturally brings a smile to your face, offering both complexity and depth while maintaining an exceptional balance of flavors. This time, I was particularly impressed by the strong mint-like nuances that I hadn't consciously noticed in previous tastings. While all this era's GlenGrant bottlings are exceptional, this commemorative bottle truly deserves its status as a remarkable long-aged malt whisky.
