After a long time drinking it, I felt it again. Indeed, I really love Brora. Brora BRORA 30yo OB 55.7% bottled in 2003, one of 3000 bottles The aroma is overripe, slightly rotten apples and apricots, plum jam, strong earthiness, a damp, moist nuance, smoky peat, rich. When drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel and expands powerfully, with viscosity, apricot jam, plum jam, rich sweetness with a good woody bitterness, earthen notes like leaf mold, strong peat, wet leather, seafood stock, rich and long lingering finish. 【Very Good/Excellent】 The official Brora 30 year old bottled in 2003. I believe the first release was in 2002, so this must be the second release. The molasses-like notes that previously expressed Brora's character fit perfectly here, and I can clearly feel the damp earthiness and smoky peat in the rich aroma. When drinking, it's surprisingly smooth for a high proof spirit but has powerful expansion, and the texture clearly shows a viscosity similar to Clynelish. The jammy, rich sweetness and good bitterness are present, as well as the earthy leaf mold notes and leather feel, all asserting themselves together with the peat. The rich umami flavor lingers until the end of the long finish. It's extremely rich, with a sticky, concentrated fruity character and a heavy peat performance. It's wonderful. I've always loved Clynelish and Brora, and I used to drink them as soon as I bought them. Especially Brora, although releases are rare, it was released every year somehow, so I ended up drinking them continuously without stockpiling. However, when it finally became impossible to buy normally, the price had skyrocketed beyond belief. Because of this, among my favorite distilleries, Brora has the least stock. Probably just a few bottles. I regret not buying more, but Brora is definitely my number one choice.
