Bruichladdich BRUICHLADDICH 34yo OB 'LEGACY SERIES SIX' 41%
The aroma has a very matured feel, with strong estery notes, pear, Cognac-like grape characteristics, vanilla cream, good woodiness, and a faint planty note. When drinking it, it's unexpectedly richly sweet, with pear tart, custard cream, viscosity, a moderate oakiness, a faint bitterness, and although the body isn't very strong, it has a rich flavor.
【Very Good】
This is Bruichladdich's official release, the sixth edition of the Legacy Series, aged 34 years. While this series often features low-alcohol expressions with strong maturation characteristics, this one is at the edge of 41%.
The aroma, as expected, has a very matured feel with an array of estery and fruity elements that are quite captivating. Particularly notable was the grape-like note reminiscent of Cognac.
Upon tasting, this long-matured fruity malt has a rich texture, with a creamy and rich sweetness reminiscent of Western pastries like pear tart. Although the alcohol content is lower, it's hard to call it a full-bodied flavor, but with its fruity notes and good oakiness, it had a rich taste.
While the aroma evokes thoughts of Bruichladdich's ultra-long-matured expressions, it also feels like a richly textured malt with the thickness typical of an official release. It was a good whisky.
This bottle was released in the late 2000s, and since this was a period when I enjoyed this type of whisky, it's a nostalgic series that I bought and drank at high prices back then.
