Bottle #グレングラント(GLENGRANT)
A bottle that made the Lemon Master cry. Glen Grant GLENGRANT 38yo GM Distillery Labels 40% Circulated in the 1970s The aroma is a seductive old sherry, berry jam, juicy grape skins, bouquet garni, earthy and leathery notes reminiscent of leaf mold and old peat. Drinking it brings an intoxicating sensation. A velvety texture, a magnificent old sherry with seductive qualities, the sweetness of berry jam and the pleasant astringency of biting into grape skins, wet leaf mold and tanned leather, with a long, intoxicating finish. 【Excellent】 This is a Glen Grant 38 Year Old from GM Distillery that circulated in the 1970s. Working backward, this implies distillation occurred at least in the 1940s, possibly even the 1930s. It had been over ten years since I last drank it, but it has the same label as the bottle featured in the manga 'BAR Lemon Heart'. The master went all the way to a Scottish liquor shop to buy it, drank it on the spot, cried tears of joy, and finished the entire bottle with the shop owner—a rather heartwarming story. Regarding the aroma, I was amazed by how little deterioration there is after approximately 40 years since bottling, suggesting the whisky's quality has stabilized through long aging. The old sherry character is explosive, with a seductive quality that's hard to describe. Within the extremely complex elements that have matured, I sensed a juicy freshness akin to ripe grape skins. There are also notes of old peat, earthy nuances, and a leathery feel—essentially containing all the elements I desire in this style of old sherry malt. Perhaps due to the addition of water during long aging, each component is distinct yet balanced and stable overall. I experienced the same wonderful intoxication and emotion as when I drank it over ten years ago. I had always wanted to drink it again after my previous experience, and now my wish has come true—happiness beyond measure.
