Bottle #タリスカー(TALISKER)
A rather well-aged aroma is felt.
Talisker TALISKER OB NEIST POINT 45.8%
The aroma is sweet, with notes of ripe plums and apricot jam, lightly berry jam and caramel, with a smoky fire-like scent from the back. Upon drinking, it starts with a soft mouthfeel and expands into apricot jam and orange marmalade, with a rich, strong sweetness, some saltiness, sea breeze, depth, and a strong smokiness. The finish is long.
[Good/Very Good]
This is the official bottle of Neist Point, bottled by Talisker for duty-free stores. It seems to be available in Japan as well.
Although it is a NAS (No Age Statement) type bottle without an aging year label, it appears that quite old cask strength spirit has been used in the vatting. The aroma lacks sharpness and instead gives a sense of softness and warmth.
There is also a rich jam-like sweetness, and the peatiness is quite refined. As a peated malt with a sense of aging, it has a good balance.
It seems that various types of casks have been used in the vatting, not only aging years, which gave a diverse aroma and left a good impression.
