The characteristic flavor and the clear fruity notes left a strong impression.
Fettercairn FETTERCAIRN 8yo OB 43% 1970s Circulation
The aroma has a pleasant old feel, with buttercream, rustic barley notes, straw, faint caramel, and a solid oily texture. When drinking, it has viscosity with buttercream, pineapple, slightly apricot jam and caramel, honey-like sweetness, rustic barley umami, and an oily, long finish. [Good/Very Good]
This is an official Fettercairn 8 Year Old from the 1970s. Although a long time has passed since bottling, the old feel is just right for me. From the aroma, I clearly sensed the house style's buttery oiliness and the rustic barley notes typical of old standards. When drinking, in addition to the characteristic elements similar to the aroma, the pineapple-like nuance, which I believe emerged from aging, was also impressive. Despite its ABV, it has a rich flavor with body and umami elements, making it very delicious. This house style and fruity sensation reminded me slightly of the 1975 Teaseter, which was selected by Causten.
