There was a dry old character, but it had a rich and delicious flavor. Rosebank ROSEBANK 8yo OB 43% 1970s Circulation The aroma had a solid old character, with a faint old sherry note, dried orange and plum, caramel, a rich grainy character without thickness, slightly earthy peat. When drinking it had a slightly smooth mouthfeel, spicy with a clean finish, a sweet flavor without any strong characteristics, some dry hay-like plant notes, a rustic grain character, and finally a faint earthiness and old peat. [Good/Very Good] This is the official bottling of Rosebank 8 year old, likely bottled towards the end of the 1970s. Because it has a sherry character from an old watered-down whisky, there was some dryness to the old character, but it had a rich grain flavor that stood out, as well as an earthy and peaty character reminiscent of old Rosebank. It had a clean finish and a refined plant-like character, which might be considered the Roland style. I savored its deliciousness slowly and deeply. This kind of earthy nuance remains even when the dryness becomes stronger, and sometimes old bottles that are more refined with less deterioration can feel like water infused with earth and peat. #Rosebank (ROSEBANK)
