Glen Garioch 8 Year Old Official 1970s

Glen Garioch GLENGARIOCH 8yo OB 43% Circulated in the 1970s
Bottle #グレンギリー(GLENGARIOCH)
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a peaty whisky once again. Glen Garioch GLENGARIOCH 8yo OB 43% Circulated in the 1970s The aroma features dried orange, vanilla, a dusty quality, damp earth, and peat. On the palate, it offers a gentle, penetrating sweetness of barley with a damp peat, chlorine notes, and a hint of perfume. The sweetness is clean yet earthy with a long finish. 【Good/Very Good】 This is an official 8-year-old Glen Garioch Old Bottle believed to have been circulated in the 1970s. The Highland-style peatiness, with a good old feel and the earthy characteristics typical of Glen Garioch, was clearly present in both aroma and flavor. As expected from a short-matured old bottle, there was a penetrating barley sweetness that lingers on the tongue, along with an enjoyable long finish for its body. While there is a slightly perfumy nuance that could be described as 'just barely perfumed,' this did not feel like a negative element at all. Overall, it has a cool impression, but since it's an old bottle with added water, it wasn't too inaccessible. I received this bottle from Yakudama-sha in Kagurazaka. Although the bar opened last November, it's a very comfortable space with great music playing, and I found it quite soothing. The malt they have is excellent, and I plan to visit again for more relaxation. #Glen Garioch (GLENGARIOCH)
