Upon drinking, it has a stimulating effect with rich sweetness from apricot jam, earthy root vegetables, younger barley, oily texture, strong peatiness, and a long, rich finish. [Good/Very Good] This is the fourth Ardbeg release from Elements of Islay by Speciality Drinks (Whisky Exchange). In addition to the concentrated red-tinged fruit notes often found in sherry casks, such as chocolate, it also has the characteristic saltiness and metallic notes of Ardbeg. It also features a strong barley character and a powerful peatiness typical of Islay malts. Although the distillery has a cold nuance, the influence of the cask adds warmth, creating a balanced Ardbeg that is rich and enjoyable.
