On the palate, it offers orange and vanilla, plum, sweet notes of marmalade and honey, with a slightly woody bitterness. However, the spicy and rich oak notes remain for a long time. This is a new product from Glenmorangie's Legends Collection Series, labeled as 'Duthac'. As the first release in this series, it was launched as a 1L bottle for duty-free stores. According to the information, the base spirit was finished in bourbon casks, Pedro Ximénez casks, and charred virgin oak casks before being blended. Typically, recent Glenmorangie releases have a vibrant bourbon cask character. However, the plum-like nuances come from the PX casks, while the slightly woody bitterness seems to originate from the virgin oak casks. The rich oak nuances add depth to the flavor. Although I found the woody bitterness slightly off-putting, overall, it seems like a whiskey that many people would enjoy.
