The aroma has green apple, lemon, vanilla, oak, a hint of grassy notes, and a gentle, rustic barley character. Upon tasting, it has youthful orange, vanilla, and plant-like notes with a touch of sweetness, some citrus acidity, slightly stronger oak and woody nuances typical of recent releases, and a faint peat.

This is Glenfiddich's latest release, a no-age-statement bottle called "THE ORIGINAL".
In an industry centered around blends, it is said that Glenfiddich was the first to promote single malts, and this bottle aims to recreate the flavor from 1963 when they started.
The label has a retro design, which looks really cool.
As for the contents, the aroma is elegant and fresh, with strong notes reminiscent of bourbon barrels or new casks from recent years.
When tasted, it has a slightly strong oak nuance and woody bitterness often found in recent Glenfiddich releases, which was a bit concerning. However, the flavor didn't linger long due to its lower alcohol content, leaving a light and smooth impression.
Incidentally, there were no perfumy elements commonly found in 1960s Glenfiddich.
It wasn't quite what I had imagined, and it doesn't match my personal taste. However, the presentation is good and the flavor is light, so it could be a great first drink for those who don't mind its woody character.
