Macallan Official Special Reserve Easter Elchies Renovation Commemorative Bottle

Macallan MACALLAN OB Special Reserve Easter Elchies 43%
Bottle #マッカラン(MACALLAN)
I had an amazing experience. Macallan MACALLAN OB Special Reserve Easter Elchies 43% The aroma is a noble old sherry with an intoxicating quality, featuring ripe plums and berries, grapes, juicy fruitiness, caramel, orange with chocolate coating, a slightly earthy dampness, diluted coffee, faint peat, nuts, herbs, warm, rich and complex. Upon drinking, it starts with a smooth mouthfeel that expands into a rich flavor, with a slightly viscous texture. The grape notes are prominent with abundant juice, ripe plums and oranges, caramel, still earthy, herbs, faint leather, rich, with a balanced sweetness that's not overly sweet and a pleasant tannic finish. The intoxicating, lustrous quality lingers for a long time. [Very Good/Excellent] This official bottling commemorates the renovation of Easter Elchies, a guesthouse located on Macallan's grounds, which was renovated in 1985. Although it was a non-sale bottle given to special guests or related parties, a small quantity has reportedly entered the market. The label contains no text, but it is said to be a 25-year-old bottle distilled in 1960. The aroma immediately presents a noble old sherry with an intoxicating quality, along with the enticing juice-like notes of ripe plums and berries, including grapes. The earthiness and old peat subtly emerge, creating a very complex profile. While it has an old-world feel, its lively character was particularly impressive. When tasted, it offers a velvety smooth texture on the palate with an unexpectedly rich and aromatic spread that defies expectations of dilution. Similar to its aroma, the sherry character is exceptional, with grape and berry nuances accompanied by a juicy flavor, a slightly damp earthiness, and complex elements like herbs and leather. The balance between sweetness and tannins is well-maintained, without being overly sweet. The intoxicatingly alluring quality lingers for a long time, giving the impression of a completed masterpiece from sherry cask whisky. I received this bottle from Walku Hall in Kodama. Although I had a prior friendship with the shop's master, this was my first time receiving malt there. This Macallan bottle was opened on its 7th anniversary, and it was almost the last pour. I'm glad I managed to get it just in time.
