Recent Release: BOWMORE Official Gold Reef
Bottle #ボウモア(BOWMORE)
It had a recent BOWMORE-like aroma.
BOWMORE OB GOLD REEF 43%
The nose featured ripe plums and berries, pineapple, vanilla, gentle peat and barley, faint black sugar. On the palate, passion fruit and pineapple with some juicy notes, a paper-like nuance, barley from the depth, peat stronger than the aroma, and an oily, rich aftertaste.
[Good/Very Good]
This is BOWMORE's official Gold Reef, a non-age statement bottle. I remember it was initially released for duty-free, but it seems to have now entered Japan as well.
Other releases include Black Rock (non-age statement) and White Sands (17 years old).
The tropical fruits, particularly the ripe ones, were clearly present in both aroma and flavor, which was a positive impression. However, there was also a slightly paper-like nuance. I believe this is likely due to the inclusion of post-2000 distillates.
Nevertheless, the peat held its own against the fruits, and despite being diluted, it retained a satisfying depth, offering an overall rich flavor.
This was a decent new release from BOWMORE.
