New Release: Glenmorangie Official 'Dornoch' Limited Edition

Glenmorangie GLENMORANGIE OB 'DORNOCH' LIMITED EDITION 43%
Bottle #グレンモーレンジ(GLENMORANGIE)
I was unexpectedly impressed by the solid peatiness. Glenmorangie GLENMORANGIE OB 'DORNOCH' LIMITED EDITION 43% The aroma is floral, with notes of orange cream, pear tart, vanilla, moderate molasses, rich oak, and peat that can be sensed without searching for it. Upon drinking, the smooth mouthfeel gradually transitions into spiciness, with a rich, sweet flavor reminiscent of orange liqueur, a complex yet refined malt character, moderate oak tannins, and peat without any roughness, leaving a clean finish. [Good/Very Good] This is Glenmorangie's official limited edition product, seemingly released for duty-free stores. It is a vatting of light peated spirit aged in Oloroso sherry casks, bourbon casks, and Amontillado casks. Even without knowing the specific casks used, the noticeable peatiness left a strong impression. The refined fruity nuances typical of Glenmorangie's bourbon casks, along with the luxurious oak character, created familiar aromas that made me want to nose instinctively, only for a sudden wave of peat to emerge. Upon tasting, the drink remains elegant and fruity, with rich oak tannins and a distinct peat presence. However, this remains undeniably Glenmorangie—elegant and refined, with a smooth, enjoyable malt. The peat character was notably different from typical island malts, lacking the usual heaviness or iodine notes.
