New Release: Lagavulin "Lg4" Elements of Islay Specialty Drinks

Lagavulin LAGAVULIN THE WHISKY EXCHANGE ELEMENTS OF ISLAY "Lg4" 55.7%
Bottle #ラガヴーリン(LAGAVULIN)
Although young, it turned out to be surprisingly drinkable. Lagavulin LAGAVULIN THE WHISKY EXCHANGE ELEMENTS OF ISLAY "Lg4" 55.7% The aroma features young barley, strong peat, a vegetal quality, smoked seafood and dashi-like notes, with a faint apricot jam in the background. Upon drinking, it has a strong and rich sweetness, a full-bodied mouthfeel, with barley as the main component alongside savory seafood dashi notes. There's also a smoky peat with a long finish. [Good/Very Good] Elements of Islay from Specialty Drinks (Whisky Exchange) features Lagavulin "Lg4", which is the fourth bottling in this series. From the aroma, a sense of youth was noticeable, but the strong barley and peat make their presence known, with clear seafood nuances. I also felt a Lagavulin-like apricot jam nuance in the background. When tasted, it has some roughness but also a rich and strong sweetness. The savory notes from both barley and seafood dashi were clearly felt, with the kind of power expected from an Islay cask strength. The youthfulness is masked by the peat and savory notes, resulting in a delicious Lagavulin.
