Laphroaig LAPHROAIG Lp5 SPECIALITY DRINKS ELEMENTS OF ISLAY 52.4%
Bottle #ラフロイグ(LAPHROAIG)
This bottle contains recent favorable elements of Laphroaig. Laphroaig LAPHROAIG Lp5 SPECIALITY DRINKS ELEMENTS OF ISLAY 52.4% The aroma features concentrated orange and apricot, a strong damp barley, vanilla, custard cream, nuts, and a robust smoky iodine. Upon tasting, it spreads richly with the sweetness of apricot jam, grapefruit, vanilla, nut cream, a late-arriving savory barley note with seafood stock, a textured mouthfeel with some chewiness, richness, iodine and smoky charcoal notes, slightly oily with a thick body and long finish. [Good/Very Good] From the Elements of Islay collection by Speciality Drinks (Whisky Exchange), this is the fifth Laphroaig release, labeled as Lp5. From both aroma and flavor, there is a strong sense of concentrated citrus and apricot fruit notes. It also has a slightly chewy, condensed feel. In addition, there is a savory barley note and the characteristic peatiness of Laphroaig with iodine, giving it a thickness and presence. Considering the price, it is likely made from relatively young casks, yet it has minimal stimulation and overall diversity while maintaining a good balance, making for a rich and delicious Laphroaig.
