MACALLAN 10 Year Old Official Bottling Circulated in the 1990s

MACALLAN MACALLAN 10yo OB 40% Circulated in the 1990s
Bottle #マッカラン(MACALLAN)
The mix of nobility and rustic charm is very much in the style of the 1990s. MACALLAN MACALLAN 10yo OB 40% Circulated in the 1990s The aroma is good sherry, berry jam, apricot jam, mitarashi (sweet sticky sauce), caramelized nuts, rich meaty notes. When drinking it is smooth, with good sherry and jam sweetness, a rich, full-bodied sweetness reminiscent of soy sauce and mirin-based sweet and savory teriyaki glaze, with a soft tannic finish for good balance. Rich meaty notes, warm and long-lasting aftertaste. [Good/Very Good] This is an official bottling of MACALLAN 10 Year Old that circulated during the late 1990s to early 2000s. The aroma is rich and complex with a good sherry character, but it lacks the noble nuances of earlier bottles, giving an overall rustic impression. Tasting it gives a similar impression, with the sweet and savory flavor reminiscent of teriyaki glaze or mitarashi being particularly notable. Both aroma and flavor carry meaty nuances, which I think contribute to the rustic feel and the sense of weight and drinkability. It might be that when first bottled, there were quite a few elements that were perceived as sulfur-like. While not quite like Rolls-Royce, the smooth mouthfeel and the expanding sensation it brings are a good impression, and I found it straightforwardly delicious.
