TALISKER 12 Year Old Official 43% Circulated in the 1970s

TALISKER 12 Year Old Original Bottle 43% Circulated in the 1970s
Bottle #タリスカー(TALISKER)
I had the feeling of drinking something amazing. TALISKER 12 Year Old Original Bottle 43% Circulated in the 1970s The aroma is a powerful old peat with an intoxicating sensation, smoky with a briny quality, concentrated orange, apricot jam, dried persimmons, caramel, chlorine-like notes, a dusty quality, savory barley, earthy nuances reminiscent of the land, and extremely complex. When drinking, it's spicy with a slight burn despite the ABV, pepper-like notes, then expands into a rich, flavorful texture that coats the tongue. A powerful, dry peat, concentrated fruits similar to the aroma, and a strong sweet aftertaste with a slight tannic finish. Savory barley depth, humus-like notes, a full-bodied and complex profile with a long, intoxicating finish. 【Very Good/Excellent】 This is a TALISKER 12 Year Old bottle marked with TD, circulated in the 1970s. I've had several bottles of the 8 Year Old with this marking, but this is my first experience with the 12 Year Old. The aroma starts with a strong, lively old peat, followed by a diverse range of concentrated fruits. It's very complex with unique chlorine-like notes and savory barley that remains even after aging, along with earthy nuances reminiscent of the land. When drinking, it has a spicy peppery mouthfeel that's surprising for 43%, and the flavor is rich and aromatic, exceeding expectations for its ABV. The taste has a similar concentrated fruitiness and powerful peat as the aroma, with an excellent balance. The savory depth of barley, along with aged earth and peat notes, lingers on the tongue, creating a high-level complex smoky malt profile. It has a strong intoxicating sensation and a long, enjoyable finish. While I love the 8 Year Old as well, this 12 Year Old is an even more complex and outstanding official bottling. Very satisfied.
