The aroma is elegant, with a pleasant old-world feel, grapefruit pith, pear, and a gentle maltiness from the back, with a faint old peat and dustiness.
When you drink it, the texture is soft and seeps into the tongue, with a strong fruity flavor similar to the aroma, gentle fruit sweetness, a light old peat, and a beautiful, intoxicating aftertaste.
[Very Good]
This Aultmore 12 Year Old, an official bottle, is believed to have been circulated around the year 1980.
I think I've introduced this before, but this Aultmore, along with the Dornan 8 Year Old and Cardhu 12 Year Old, which were circulated from the late 70s to the 80s, are classified as special to me.
What astonished me when I first drank it was the nuance of grapefruit pith, reminiscent of the 60s matured Bowmore such as Duncan Taylor, which could be felt from a short-matured old bottle.
Even now, when I drink it again, the fruity character reminiscent of old Bowmore is clearly felt.
Although there's an old-world feel, it doesn't feel off-putting; rather, I felt that the peatiness reminiscent of aged changes adds an intoxicating touch.
According to my senses, I think the peak drinking period has already passed, and it's unclear how many more times I can enjoy it in good condition, but I intend to cherish those opportunities.
