The mouthfeel is viscous and expands powerfully with rich, concentrated sweetness and acidity from baked apple, apricot jam, and plum jam. The roasted barley's umami and resinous pine notes create a thick body with drinking satisfaction. The oily finish is long-lasting. 【Good/Very Good】 This is a commemorative decanter bottled by Bruichladdich to celebrate its Centenary (100th anniversary of operations) in 1981. As a 15-year-old whisky, it would be from around the 1966 vintage. The aroma has a rich apple character, with good barley notes. Elements like caramel, herbs, and spices from sherry casks contribute to a complex aroma. When drinking, it has a concentrated sweetness and acidity like jam, along with the umami of barley, providing ample drinking satisfaction. The resinous woody character reminiscent of pine resin adds richness but also gives a slightly rustic, heavy feel overall.
