I had no idea there was a release like this. It's truly amazing how it embodies the Manager's Dram flavor. TALISKER 17yo OB Manager's Dram 2011 Edition 55.2% The aroma carries a subtle sense of aging, with notes of lemon cream, faint pear, and a robust yet savory barley character. There's also a refined seafood stock quality alongside strong smoky peat, creating a pure and pleasant nose that lingers. Upon tasting, it starts with a surprisingly smooth mouthfeel before expanding powerfully and spicily. The flavor is rich and sophisticated, with hints of ripe orange, light vanilla, and a strong, savory barley essence that lingers on the tongue. There's also a gentle sweetness with a touch of saltiness, intense peat, and rich oak and nuttiness. The finish is long and intoxicating. 【Very Good/Excellent】 This is the official 17-year-old TALISKER Manager's Dram. Released in 2011, with bottle number 0930, it's likely a vatting from casks distilled before 1994. While Manager's Dram is famously known as a non-selling bottle given to staff, I was surprised even as Campbell's master that such a release existed in 2011. Not only Manager's Dram, but also Manager's Choice seems to follow this trend. Many of Diageo's special releases have a less pronounced cask character, allowing the natural qualities of the thick barley and distillery personality to shine through. This TALISKER is no exception, with its citrusy fruitiness, creaminess, and vanilla/oak notes that are not overly harsh. The spicy TALISKER character and strong peat make a bold statement. Despite its powerful ABV, it has a subtle aged character from spending several years in the bottle. While it's definitely for connoisseurs, it doesn't feel off-putting to others. As a TALISKER Manager's Dram, it's an incredibly satisfying finish - I could easily keep drinking it. #TALISKER (TALISKER)
