Bottle #ブレアアソール(BLAIR ATHOL)
A type that has become more delicious through bottle aging. Blair Athol 18 Year Old James MacArthur's In Celebration of the 500th Anniversary of Scotch Whisky (1494-1994), 50.4% ABV The aroma has a slight sweetness, a pleasant old oak character, dryness, lemon, youthfulness with refined barley and green plant notes, and a faint peachiness from the depths. When drinking, there is some boldness but a smooth texture that seeps in, honey lemon, rich sweetness, deep flavor with chewiness, pleasant umami barley notes, and a subtle peat from the depths. [Good/Very Good] One of the commemorative bottlings for the 500th anniversary of James MacArthur's Scotch whisky. Bottled in 1994, it is estimated to have been distilled around 1976. The cask used was plain, not strongly oaky, and due to the 18-year maturation in a cask that doesn't easily impart aging characteristics, it has youthful notes of barley and plant sensations. However, it also contains a refined nuance, which was interesting. Similarly, the aroma and flavor have this same sensation, with a texture that seeps in and a concentrated chewiness that I enjoy. Though not complex, it was a delicious malt. It is likely that the whisky was difficult to drink and appreciate at bottling, but with proper bottle aging, it has finally reached its drinking prime. #Blair Athol (BLAIR ATHOL)
