ABERLOUR 19yo OB for La Maison du Whisky 60th ANNIVERSARY #5938 53.6% FIRST FILL SHERRY CASK
Bottle #アベラワー(ABERLOUR)
As expected from La Maison, they've selected a superb sherry cask. ABERLOUR 19yo OB for La Maison du Whisky 60th ANNIVERSARY #5938 53.6% FIRST FILL SHERRY CASK The aroma is sweet and pleasant sherry, apricot jam, milk chocolate, a touch of candied fruit, toasty barley, good oak notes, rich. On the palate, it starts with a smooth texture and a slightly concentrated mouthfeel, revealing apricot jam, baked apple, chocolate, a firm sweetness balanced by oak, and hints of herbs, cinnamon spices, with a rich, long finish. [Good/Very Good] One of many commemorative bottles released by La Maison du Whisky for their 60th anniversary, this is an official single cask bottling of ABERLOUR 19 years old. Although part of the newer releases, it exhibits an exceptional sherry character, with a jammy sweetness, milk chocolate notes, and a candied-like softness. However, it's not one-dimensional sweetness; the rich oak and barley notes are vibrant and assertive. When drinking, it retains the jammy sweetness from the aroma while also offering elements of oak, herbs, and spices, creating a complex and tightly structured flavor profile. Overall, it has an elegant, refined aroma with a sense of luxury. It's delicious as is, but I believe it will become even more harmonious and deep with further aging in the bottle. #ABERLOUR
