#ブルイックラディ(BRUICHLADDICH)
Proud cask strength. The characteristic woody notes were notable. Bruichladdich BRUICHLADDICH 1965 15yo OB 53% The aroma has a pleasant old character, heated apple, cinnamon, old woody notes, particularly strong hinoki (Japanese cypress), nuts, quite rich, with a faint peat in the background. When drinking, it has a smooth mouthfeel with power, heated apple, cinnamon, rich sweetness balanced by tannins, hinoki woody notes, and a long, rich finish. 【Very Good】 This is the official 15-year-old bottling of Bruichladdich from the 1965 vintage, bottled around 1980. Cask strength official bottlings from this era are quite rare. Although over 35 years have passed since bottling, it still shows good old character without any deterioration. It had a unique fruity note reminiscent of heated apples, characteristic of older Bruichladdich. Moreover, while many Bruichladdich bottles from this period had hinoki-like woody notes, this bottle also clearly showcased that characteristic. With a strong aroma typical of cask strength, combined with its old character, it felt quite complex. When drinking, the mouthfeel has become slightly smoother due to aging, but it still retained a powerfulness typical of high-proof bottles with shorter maturation. Due to the presence of heated apple-like fruits and cinnamon, it gave a slight impression of apple pie, while also strongly asserting its hinoki-like nuances. This woody note might be divisive, but personally I found it very delicious, though there is a slightly tiring aspect to it. Nevertheless, it gives a sense of the original house style, and in terms of satisfaction from one glass, I believe it is an excellent malt.
