As expected, it has a unique intoxicating sensation and is truly wonderful. Glenmorangie GLENMHOR 1966-2002 35yo DOUGLAS LAING Old & Rare 45% one of 230 bottles The aroma has a unique intoxicating sensation, nikki (sweet rice wine), ginger candy, plum-like notes, with a subtle peach in the background, and a refined yet savory malt that makes you want to drink it immediately. When drinking, it's more powerful than the alcohol content suggests. The texture seeps in gradually, with a unique nikki sensation similar to the aroma, matured plum jam, a strong sweet richness and a thick, savory maltiness that lingers long with pleasant aftertaste. 【Very Good/Excellent】 This is a Glenmorangie 1966, 35-year-old release from Douglas Laing's flagship series Old & Rare. It comes in a green bottle without shoulder labels, making it an early release from this series. As I've mentioned several times before, whether due to cask selection or otherwise, this unique intoxicating sensation is commonly found in the early releases of Old & Rare but not in OMC. This bottle clearly exhibits that characteristic. I've struggled to express this properly, but recently I perceive it as having a slightly Japanese-like nuance. This bottle also feels like it contains plum-like notes, nikki, ginger, and a very refined, savory malt. The cask isn't overly strong, so despite the long aging and lower alcohol content, it has a substantial depth. Even while just nosing it, I find myself wanting to take a sip immediately. When drinking, the thickness exceeds the alcohol content, and the umami blends with a rich sweetness that seeps into your senses, creating an irresistible deliciousness. And ultimately, it's a bottle that's difficult to effectively convey its deliciousness... I've had this Glenmorangie many times before, but since it's been a while, I found it particularly delicious this time. I could easily drink more of it.
